Selecting "Map" from the main menu displays
the map of the area in which your character
is located.
Your current location and direction is
indicated by a red mark.

control stick or the 2, 4, 6, and 8 keys on the keyboard.

The "Markers" option, accessible by
selecting "Map" from the main menu,
allows you to place markers on the map in any location
that you like.

Selecting "Markers" from the Map menu
and pressing the confirm button opens a
window on the right side of the screen.
This window contains blank slots for markers.
Select a blank slot and press the Confirm button to display
the "Mark," "Markers," and "Change Name" commands.
First, choose "Markers."
&pre=01; When you select "Markers," a marker will appear on top of
the map.
Move the marker to the location you wish to mark and
press the Confirm button.
The marker will be recorded in a blank slot, and you will be
allowed to enter a desired name for it.
The name can consist of up to 15 alphanumeric characters.
You can delete or change the name of a marker that you
have already placed by selecting it.

"Wide Scan" is a special function
that can only be used by Rangers
and Beastmasters.
It allows you to scan the map for
monsters and NPCs (non-player characters) in your area.
&pre=01; Selecting "Wide Scan" displays a list of NPCs and monsters
within a certain range of your character in a list on the
upper left of the screen. Select a monster or NPC from the
list to display a red cross mark on the map, indicating its
current location.
(Monsters are indicated with red dots, while NPCs are
indicated with green dots.)
Press the Confirm button a second time and the "Track"
and "Remote Scan" commands will appear on the upper
right of the screen.

Indicates the direction of the specified target in the radar
display to the upper left of your log window.

Displays a white circle, representing your scan area, on
the map. The scan will find monsters and NPCs within this
circular area. You can move the scan area with the Left
control stick or the 2, 4, 6, and 8 keys on the keyboard.
Be aware that you can only move the scan circle within a
certain distance from your character.
