To make a reservation, the player must have a Ballista License and a certain number of Ballista Points. Neither a Ballista License nor Ballista Points is needed to participate in a match in the special area, however a teleportation fee will be charged. &pre=01;&style=Ty15_2; *The "Chains of Promathia" expansion disc must be installed in order to access Diorama Abdhaljs - Ghelsba.&style; &style=spacer01; &style; Reservation procedures and information may be accessed by speaking to the NPC Tillecoe at I-8 of the Ru'Lude Gardens. One of the Ballista participants in Diorama Abdhaljs - Ghelsba will be designated as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) and will be able to set the rules for the match. The rules will be displayed in the area as a system message, but can also be learned by speaking to the Herald. Players should have an adequate understanding of the match rules before commencement. &pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Reservations and Use&style; &style=spacer01; &style; Reservations and use of Ballista area Diorama Abdhaljs - Ghelsba: &style=spacer01; &style; &style=Tg15; (1) Making a Reservation&style; &style=spacer01; &style; The area can be reserved up to 2 days in advance. Specific times can be chosen at the time of reservation. The Diorama can be reserved in blocks of two hours (Earth time 20:00-22:00, 22:00-24:00, 24:00-02:00…) if it is not already reserved or if a reservation has been cancelled. &pre=01; For example, at 16:00 on April 29, the player would be able to reserve an open block of time up until 16:00 on May 1. A player cannot make a new reservation if already in possession of a Ballista Redbook. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (2) Ballista Redbook &style; &style=spacer01; &style; The player will receive a copy of the Ballista Redbook if reserving the area for a block on a future calendar day. The player will receive a copy of the Ballista Whitebook if reserving the area for a same-day block. At the time of the reservation, the player is required to decide on a level restriction, and can leave a comment if the match is far enough in advance. This information is saved and can be double-checked by the player anytime afterward. &pre=01; -Level Restriction The player can choose to restrict the match to level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60, or may set the match to no restriction. &style=spacer01; &style; -Comments The player can leave a comment to let others know that participants are wanted. (Players who respond to the comment will receive a page from the Brenner Redbook from Tillecoe.) &pre=1;&style=Tg15; (3) Application Procedures and Rule Adjustment&style; &style=spacer01; &style; The Application process ends when the player trades a copy of the Ballista Redbook to the NPC who accepted the reservation. If the player has not gone through the proper application procedures, the reservation will be cancelled, even if the player has a copy of the Ballista Redbook. &style=spacer01; &style; &style=Ty15; *Players with a Ballista Whitebook do not need to go through the application process.&style; &pre=01; The following rules may be changed by speaking to Tillecoe. &style=spacer01; &style; -Allow/Restrict Gallery Attendance ("Restrict" by default) When this option is set to "Allow Gallery," non-participants may observe the match for a fee. Players who have entered the area using this method will be unable to join the match. &style=spacer01; &style; -Allow/Restrict General Participation ("Restrict" by default) When this option is set to "Allow Participation," participants may receive a Ballista Redbook or Whitebook directly from the NPC. Also, prospective participants can speak to the NPC to learn the match's level restriction. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (4) Procedures for Participating Players&style; &style=spacer01; &style; Players must be in possession of a copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook to be transported to the Diorama. By using a copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook, players can create pages of that book. More pages can be made by using the page as one would a normal item. Players should create several pages and distribute them to those wanting to participate in the match. &pre=01; If the player with the copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook has set the rules to allow general participation, aspiring participants may receive pages directly from the NPC who accepted the reservation. &style=spacer01; &style; &style=Ty15; *Gallery members do not need a Redbook or Whitebook page to enter the Diorama. &style; &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (5) Transportation&style; &style=spacer01; &style; At the time of the match, players will be transported to the Diorama after trading a copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook, or a page from either of the books. A fee determined by the match's level restriction will be collected. Match observers may be transported for a fee by talking to the NPC in charge of the reservation, and choosing to become a gallery member. If the match is set to restrict gallery attendance, the option to become a gallery member will not be displayed. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (6) Master of Ceremonies (MC)&style; &style=spacer01; &style; A player can become the Master of Ceremonies by trading a copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook to the Herald in the Diorama. The MC can adjust the rules of the match. If the player with the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook is unable to participate in the match, the position of MC will be given to another player. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (7) Adjusting Rules as MC&style; &style=spacer01; &style; The MC can adjust several match rules. (For more details, please refer to "Rule Adjustments"). Players may apply for entry at any time after the match rules are set. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (8) Applying for Entry&style; &style=spacer01; &style; Players may apply for entry by trading a copy of the Ballista Redbook or Whitebook or a page from either book to a Herald. Participants will be divided into two forces, Wyvern and Griffon, regardless of nationality. &style=spacer01; &style; &style=Ty15_2; *The entry method is determined by the MC. *Players do not need to pay additional participation fees after arriving in Diorama Abdhaljs - Ghelsba. *Each force must have a minimum of one player. *The icon color for the Wyvern force is blue. Griffon's color is green.&style; &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (9) Match Commencement&style; &style=spacer01; &style; When all participants have entered the Diorama, the MC closes entry and gives the opening oaths by speaking to the Herald. The MC may also speak to the Herald to adjust the rules of the match. &pre=01;&style=Tg15; (10) Closing&style; &style=spacer01; &style; When the match time set by the MC is over, the match will end. Multiple matches may be played until the reservation time runs out. However, it is important to keep in mind that any match being played when time runs out will automatically end, and all participants and gallery attendants will be transported back to Ru'Lude Gardens. Players may return to Ru'Lude Gardens at any time by speaking to the Pursuivant. &pre=01;&style=Ty15; *Rewards, Ballista Points, experience points, ranking, and the title of high scorer will not be awarded in Diorama Abdhaljs - Ghelsba.&style; &pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Match Proceedings&style; &style=spacer01; &style; The MC may change the rules at any time during the match. A message will be displayed in the Diorama explaining any changes made. &style=spacer01; &style; Stop match: Selecting this option will conclude the match and tally the results regardless of the time remaining. &style=spacer01; &style; Cancel match & return to entry: Selecting this option will end the current match. Players must reenter in order to participate again. &pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Rule Adjustments&style; &style=spacer01; &style; The MC may adjust the following rules: &style=spacer01; &style; Ballista Royale Rules Rules under this setting are identical to those used in the Ballista Royale tournament except that jobs allowed on a team are not restricted, and over six players may participate. The player must set the level restriction, minimum level, and entry method. There are several other adjustable rules. &pre=01; Entry Type (free/open/auto/shuffle) &style=spacer01; &style; Free: Players are allowed to select the team they wish to join. However, if one side grows too large, further applications may be denied until the number of members on the other side has increased. &pre=01; Open: Players can join the team of their choice, only if the side they have chosen has the same or fewer members than the other. If the side chosen has more members, players will automatically be moved to the team with fewer. &style=spacer02; &style; Auto-Balance: After players have completed a temporary entry into one of the two sides, the MC can choose to redistribute the players (by main job) evenly among the teams. &pre=01; Random Shuffle: After players have completed a temporary entry into one of the two sides, the MC can choose to randomly shuffle all players between the teams. &style=spacer01; &style; Entry Cancel (allowed/not allowed) If re-entry is not allowed, a player will not be able to reapply for match participation in the event he or she requests a discharge before or during a match. &pre=01; Mid-Match Entry (allowed/not allowed) If mid-match entry is allowed, players unaffiliated with either side may join one of the teams while the match is in progress. &style=spacer01; &style; Minimum Level Restriction (none/ Lv.10/Lv.20/Lv.30/Lv.40/ Lv.50/Lv.60/Lv.75) When a minimum level restriction is set, any player under that level will not be allowed to participate in the matches. Also, the minimum level restriction must be equal to or lower than the maximum level restriction. &pre=01; Support Job (allowed/not allowed) &style=spacer01; &style; Match Location The MC can adjust the position of the Herald (4 locations), the camps (8 locations), and the Rooks (4 locations). The MC can also decide on the total number of Rooks (1 to 4). &pre=01; A match's battle zone is decided by the location of the Rooks in play. For example, if only Rook B is used, then the battle zone will be in the field around Rook B. If Rooks A and C are used, then the battle zone will be in the field around Rooks A and C, as well as the area around where Rook B would be if it were to be used. &style=spacer01; &style; If at any time all members of the leading forces leave the battle zone, all players on the opposing forces will automatically be granted Gate Breach status. &pre=01; Briefing Period Length (1 min/3 min/5 min) The briefing period is the time set aside before a match to allow the two sides to talk over their battle strategies. &style=spacer01; &style; Time spent in the briefing period will not be subtracted from match time. For example, if briefing lasts 3 minutes before a 30-minute match, the time spent from the beginning of briefing to the end of the match will be 33 minutes. &pre=01; Match Length (10 min/15 min/20 min/30 min/45 min/ 1 Vana'diel day/60 min) A match will be cancelled in the event a party's Diorama access time expires before the match has completed. (1 Vana'diel day = 57 minutes, 36 seconds) &style=spacer01; &style; Match Type (all or nothing/best of three) The length of the interval between best of three matches is based on single match length.
Match Length Interval Length
10 minutes 30 seconds
15 minutes 60 seconds
20 minutes 60 seconds
30 minutes 90 seconds
45 minutes 90 seconds
1 Vana'diel Day 96 seconds
60 minutes 90 seconds
&pre=01; Best of three matches are not allowed when the "called game" feature is in effect.
&pre=01; Normal Item Usage (allowed/not allowed) When normal item use is not allowed, players will be unable to use items acquired before the match. (This does not include items such as arrows and projectiles.) &style=spacer01; &style; Temporary Item Capacity (10/15/20) Sets the maximum number of temporary items (items found when quarrying) that can be stored in a player's inventory. &style=spacer01; &style; Temporary Item Distribution (allowed/not allowed) When allowed, five temporary items will be distributed to all participants at the beginning of each match (or set of matches). &pre=01; Voucher Exchange (allowed/not allowed) When allowed, all vouchers a player carries at the beginning of the match will be exchanged for the corresponding temporary items. &style=spacer01; &style; Fill All Petra Holes (yes/no) When all Petra holes are filled, players will always find either Petras or temporary items when quarrying. &style=spacer01; &style; One-Time Scoring Limit (1/2/3/4/5/10/15/none) This setting determines the number of Petras a player can score at one time (per Gate Breach). &pre=01; Called Game (none/10-Petra lead/20-Petra lead/30-Petra lead/40-Petra lead/50-Petra lead/60-Petra lead/70-Petra lead/80-Petra lead/90-Petra lead/100-Petra lead) When the called game function is in effect, a game will automatically come to an end when the lead of one team reaches the number set by the MC.
