&pre=1;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Basic Rules&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
In addition to the basic rules, there are a number of rules
that can be set by the Master of Ceremonies (MC).
Additionally, some abilities used in Brenner differ from
those used in regular battles.
&style=spacer01; &style;
[Actions]
The following actions are restricted during Brenner:
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Fishing
-Utilizing bazaar functions with non-team members
-Trading with non-team members
-Speaking to NPCs unaffiliated with Brenner
&pre=01; At the start of a match, all player information will become
public, and a team icon will appear to the left of the
players' names. Due to the fact that non-participants do
not appear on participants' screens, contact between the
two groups is also prohibited. However, the participants
are visible to gallery members, so spectators may observe
the match.
&pre=1; [Chat]
When participating in a match, you will automatically be
equipped with a team linkshell. Members of the opposing
team will not see what is said on your linkshell, but you
can communicate through other chat methods.
&style=spacer02; &style;
[Parties]
You may freely form parties during Brenner. You can even
form a party with a member of the opposing team, but in
such a case, the only thing that you could accomplish
together would be chatting as a party.
&pre=1; [The Equipment Penalty]
Players who change equipment during the match that alter
the player's character graphic, including ammunition, will
be unable to move or fight in battle for a certain amount
of time. During this time, the player can change more
equipment without incurring an additional penalty.
However, caution should be taken when performing these
actions, as the player will be vulnerable to attacks from
nearby players.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;On-screen Information&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
At the beginning of the match, the
following information regarding your team
and the opposing team is displayed in the
upper-left corner of the participants' screens:
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Flammen-Brenner
&style=Ty15; *Red circles indicate a lit Flammen-Brenner&style;
-Match score
-Number of Petras in your possession
&pre=01; The following commands are added to the
action command menu during Brenner:
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Quarry
-Sprint
&style=spacer03; &style;
&style=spacer03; &style;
&style=spacer03; &style;
The color of the participants' names
indicates which team they are on, and the
team icon next to each player's name
reveals their nation.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Flammen-Brenner&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
There are several Flammen-Brenner
(flame burners) for each team,
half of which are lit by Flamme
(flames) at the start of the match.
The Flammen-Brenner are covered
by a grate to protect the Flamme,
but the grate will open after receiving a certain amount of
damage. Even if a player succeeds in opening the grate,
however, it will close again after a certain amount of time
if the Flamme is not taken.
&pre=01; In addition, Flammen-Brenner that are not receiving damage
will gradually recover.
A team will be declared victorious if it lights all of its
Flammen-Brenner and protects the Flamme for a set amount
of time.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Flamme&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
Target a Flamme (flame) in one of the
opposing team's Flammen-Brenner and
press the Confirm button or the Enter
key to capture it. When in possession of a Flamme, the
player's team icon changes and that player is unable to
use the Quarry or Sprint commands. A player with a
Flamme cannot increase his or her speed using any method.
&pre=01; When in possession of a Flamme, you can light one of your
team's Flammen-Brenners by targeting it and pressing the
Confirm button or the Enter key. If a player holds a
Flamme for too long or is KO'd while in possession of the
Flamme, the Flamme will automatically return to the
opposing team's Flammen-Brenner.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Quarry&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
Like in Ballista, you can use the Quarry command to dig up
Petras during Brenner. If you speak to the Pursuivant at
your team's camp while in possession of a Petra, your HP
and MP will be refilled. You can also quarry temporary
items. These items can be used at any time during the
match, but will disappear when the match ends.
You can only possess one of each temporary item type at
one time.
&pre=01; If you have too many temporary items or quarry an item
that you already possess, you will be given the option to
use the item immediately or to discard it. This does not
apply, however, to players who possess the key item
"Brenner Shovel."
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Ty15_2; *Using the Quarry command will remove the effect of
invisibility.
*You cannot quarry while stunned or asleep.
*If you are attacked by a member of the opposite team
while using Quarry, the action will be cancelled.
*Petras may be taken from a member of the opposing team
using the thief abilities "Steal" and "Mug."&style;
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Sprint&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
Players can use the Sprint command or /sprint to increase
their speed for a certain amount of time. This command can
only be used when the player is not in possession of a
Flamme or Petras. After using Sprint, you must wait a
short time before using it again.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Ty15; *Using the Sprint command while inflicted with "Weight"
status will have no effect. &style;
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Other Abilities&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3;Wide Scan&style;
All jobs can use Wide Scan during a Brenner match to check
the locations of their teammates on the map.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3;Special Abilities&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
【Provoke】
Provoke can be used to lock the target of an enemy player.
While provoked, a player can only target the provoker.
This ability can be used to help members of your team who
are in trouble. However, Provoke is not guaranteed to take
effect.
&pre=01; 【Steal】
Petras can be stolen from members of the opposing team
by using this ability.
&style=spacer01; &style;
【Mug】
Increases the chance of stealing large numbers of Petras
from a member of the opposing team.
&style=spacer01; &style;
[Auto-Attack]
During Brenner, the range of all melee weapons is increased.
&pre=01; ["Resist" Abilities]
All "Resist" abilities are enhanced.
&style=spacer01; &style;
[Weapon Skills]
The range of all melee weapon skills is increased.
However, that of ranged weapons is not affected.
&pre=01; &style=Tk15w_3;TP&style;
TP will be reset at the following times:
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Match commencement
-Returning to camp after KO
-Logging out
&pre=01; &style=Tk15w_3;Magic Resistance&style;
Resistance to the black magic spells "Gravity" and "Bind,"
the white magic spell "Silence," and the bard song "Lullaby"
gradually increases the more the spell is used.
This resistance decreases with time.
Match commencement or returning to camp after a KO will
reset the resistance to a fixed level.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;KO&style;
Experience will not be lost if you are KO'd, but you will lose
all Petras and your TP will be reset. You can choose to
return to camp after a KO, where you will be revived with
full HP and MP. However, a penalty will be incurred based
on the amount of time that has passed since your last KO.
You can also adjust the KO penalty to recover less HP and
MP after revival.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Scoring&style;
In the event that neither team claims victory by lighting and
protecting their Flammen-Brenner for a certain amount of
time, the outcome of the match will be evaluated based on
score.
Points are earned in the following ways:
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Lighting one of your team's Flammen-Brenner (1 point)
-Taking back a Flamme that was stolen by the opposing
team (2 points)
&pre=01; -Successfully defending your team's Flamme for the amount
of time required for Complete status; e.g., if Complete
status is set to 3 minutes and you protect the Flamme
for 3 minutes (1 point)
&style=spacer01; &style;
In addition, 10 points are awarded to each side for every lit
Flammen-Brenner. These points are deducted the moment
the opposing team seizes the Flamme. No points are
awarded while a player simply holds the Flamme, but if a
team manages to light one of their Flammen-Brenner, 10
points will be added to its score at that time.
&pre=01;&image=ng01;&style=Tk15w_3;Rule Adjustment&style;
In an official match, participants can change or fix certain
rules for a fee. Each person can only change one rule per
session. Each rule can only be changed once, and fixed rules
cannot be changed.
In a private match, the Master of Ceremonies (MC) may
adjust the following rules:
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Entry Type&style;
1. Auto-Balance
After players have completed a temporary entry into one
of the two sides, the MC can choose to redistribute the
players evenly (by main job) among the teams.
&style=spacer01; &style;
2. Random Shuffle
After players have completed a temporary entry into one
of the two sides, the MC can choose to randomly shuffle
all players between the teams.
&pre=01; 3. Free
Players are allowed to select the team they wish to join.
However, if one side grows too large, further applications
may be denied until the number of members on the other
side has increased.
&pre=01; 4. Linkshell (LS Liga)
Selecting this option pits linkshell against linkshell in an
LS Liga match. When a linkshell leader registers for LS
Liga, the other members of his/her linkshell can also
apply for the match. The linkshell leader's participation
in the match is required, but other members may join or
leave as they wish.
In LS Liga matches, the linkshell leaders of both teams
must agree to the rules set by the MC before the match
takes place.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Re-entry (none/OK)&style;
If re-entry is not allowed, a player will be unable to reapply
for match participation in the event he or she requests a
discharge before or during a match.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Mid-match Entry (none/OK)&style;
If mid-match entry is allowed, players unaffiliated with
either side may join one of the teams while the match is in
progress.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Allowable Margin (up to 1 member/none)&style;
This option sets the size of the allowable margin between
team numbers. In the case where no margin is allowed, the
match will not begin until both sides have an equal number
of entries.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Main Job (duplicates OK/no duplicates)&style;
This option decides whether or not multiples of the same
main job are allowed on a single team. In the case where
"no duplicates" has been chosen, all members of the same
job except for one will have their entries cancelled.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Support Job (OK/none)&style;
This option sets whether or not support jobs will be allowed.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Minimum Level (10/20/30/40/50/60/none)&style;
This option sets the minimum level for participation in the
match. This value cannot be set higher than the maximum
level setting.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Layout (pattern A/pattern B/pattern C) &style;
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option allows the player to choose from three patterns
that determine the location of the teams' camps and the
number and location of Flammen-Brenner.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Briefing (30 seconds/1 minutes/3 minutes/5 minutes)&style;
This option allows the player to choose the amount of time
allocated to the briefing, or the period of time before
the match where strategies can be hammered out.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Match Length (5/10/15/20/30 minutes)&style;
This option sets the length of one match. The match will
automatically end when the selected amount of time has
passed.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Number of Sets (1/2/3) &style;&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets the number of sets to be played.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Other Time Settings &style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Complete Status (1/2/3/4/5 minutes)
This option sets the amount of time one side must
maintain Complete status (i.e. each Flammen-Brenner
has been lit with a Flamme) until the match becomes a
called game.
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Flamme Duration (1/2/3/4/5 minutes)
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets the amount of time a player can hold on
to a Flamme before it returns to a Flammen-Brenner on
the opposing side.
&pre=01; -Flammen-Brenner Recovery (10/20/30/45/60 seconds)
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets the amount of time that will pass before
a destroyed Flammen-Brenner will recover after a failed
attempt to capture the Flamme.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Item Use (OK/none)&style;
This option sets whether or not normal items can be used
during a match.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Temporary Item Settings&style;
-Temporary Item Capacity (10/15/20)
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets the maximum number of temporary items
that a player can carry at one time.
&style=spacer01; &style;
-Temporary Item Distribution (none/OK)
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets whether or not 5 temporary items (some
random) will be distributed to each player at the start
of the match.
&pre=01; -Quarry Holes (all full/some empty)
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets whether or not some attempts to quarry
will fail to produce an item.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; Sleep Effects Removed (none/OK) &style;
&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets whether or not Flammen-Brenner that are
under attack will remove Sleep status effects from nearby
players of the same side.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3; Repair by Petra (none/OK)&style;&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
This option sets whether or not Flammen-Brenner will
consume Petras from nearby team members to restore HP
after being damaged past a certain point.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Tk15w_3; KO Penalty (Level 1/Level 2) &style;&style=Ty14;*Adjustable in official matches&style;
In the case of a Level 1 penalty, reviving from a KO will
take longer depending on the length of time between KOs.
The Level 2 penalty has the same penalties as Level 1, as
well as an additional penalty of less HP and MP being
recovered upon revival.
