The citizens of the Imperial capital rely on the assistance of adventures who have arrived on the shores of the Aradjiah continent--the stage for the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion disc. &style=spacer01; &style; &style=Ty14_4; *You must have installed and registered the contents of the FINAL FANTASY XI Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion disc in order to participate in Besieged. &pre=01; Adventurers must aid the Empire of Aht Urhgan in preventing the beastman armies from capturing the "Astral Candescence" --a treasure kept within the Imperial capital of Al Zahbi. In the event that the beastmen succeed, adventurers must invade the fortresses of the Empire's savage enemies and retrieve the candescence. The Astral Candescence is the key to victory. When it sits upon an Astral Plinth, its unearthly and undetectable melody infuses both people and beastmen alike with mysterious energy. &pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3;&image=ng01;Defending the Capital&style; &style=spacer01; &style; &li= ;When you participate in the defense of Al Zahbi, you will receive Imperial Standing and experience points (or limit points for characters level 75 or above who are in Limit Points mode). The size of this reward will depend on your level of contribution, and will be halved in the event that the defense of the city fails. If the beastmen succeed in capturing the Astral Candescence, the benefits that are usually associated with its presence in the city will no longer be available. The order to retrieve the Astral Candescence will be issued by the Empire, and adventurers must set forth to wrest the treasure from an Astral Plinth within the beastmen's lair.&li; &pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3;&image=ng01;Prisoners&style; &style=spacer01; &style; When Besieged has ended, there is the chance that one or more NPCs in Al Zahbi have been taken prisoner by the beastman armies. These NPCs will disappear from Al Zahbi, which may result in the Auction House or certain shop services no longer being available. The captured NPCs can be freed by obtaining the necessary keys.
