Chocobo raising is the process of
bringing a chocobo from egg to
maturity. You can ride your
chocobo and breed it with other
chocobos once it reaches a certain
developmental stage.

&style=spacer01; &style;
To start raising a
chocobo, you must first
have an egg, which can
be acquired from a shop
or a battlefield. Trade your egg to a VCS chocobo trainer
at the chocobo stables of San d'Oria, Bastok, or Windurst
to begin the chocobo raising process. You can speak to a
chocoguy for additional advice on raising chocobos.
&pre=01;&style=Ty15; *You cannot trade an egg to a VCS chocobo trainer if you
are already raising a chocobo.
&style=spacer01; &style;
*You can only care for your chocobo at the stables where
you first traded your egg. If you want to raise a chocobo
in a different nation, you must first give up raising the
chocobo you are currently caring for.

You can access a list of
chocobo care options by
speaking to a VCS
chocobo trainer. At first,
you will find options to provide direct care for your
chocobo or create a care plan, but as your chocobo
matures, the options will gradually increase to include
riding your chocobo and matchmaking.
&pre=01;&style=Tk15w_3;&image=ng01;Direct Care&style;
&style=spacer01; &style;
Talk to a VCS chocobo trainer and choose "Care for your
chocobo" to provide your chocobo with direct care.
You are not required to directly care for your chocobo,
but doing so will result in bonds of affection that may have
positive effects on your animal. Also, directly caring for
your chocobo may cure several status abnormalities.
&style=spacer01; &style;
&style=Ty14; *The types of direct care available will gradually increase as the
chocobo matures.
*You must fulfill certain conditions before your chocobo is able
to compete against others.
