Guide to Creating a Basic Application
Creating a Basic Application is a basic guide to building applications for the CommonPoint application system. The information in this book gets you working with the CommonPoint application system quickly. Once you have a basic application running, the other books in the documentation set will help you to refine and enhance your application.
This book is divided into parts:
Getting started provides a brief overview of some CommonPoint application system concepts that will make it easier for you to build an application.
Building an application is a learning aid that provides guidelines for developers who are learning to:
- Create a basic CommonPoint application system application
- Manage and manipulate application data
- Build a sophisticated user interface
This book assumes that you are a C++ programmer, that you have installed the CommonPoint application system, and that you know how to browse header files and on-line class and member descriptions.
This book further assumes that you are familiar with the basic development tools included with your CommonPoint application system, including the Sniff+ code browser, the Taligent UI Builder, and the C++ compiler and debugger. The Taligent Tools for AIX and UI Builder for the CommonPoint Application System books provide information about these development tools.
