Understanding record sources
Data transfers to and from SQLDAS objects by means of record sources. A record source is a streaming analog of a standard database table used to handle the data returned from a SQL query. Because record sources capture all the essential semantic constraints of relational data in a simple, extensible form, they impose minimal performance penalties.
