To define and access properties, you use a combination of TProperty and TPropertyID instances, along with a class that derives from MPropertyStore.
NOTE
For this software release, you cannot define your own properties; you can only use properties pre-defined by the system (such as those defined by the File System interface). Later releases will allow you to define your own properties and property identifiers. For instructions on how to define properties for interfaces that support them, refer to the chapters that describe those interfaces.
MPropertyStore provides the protocol for:
- Reading properties individually or in batches
- Writing properties individually or in batches
- Deleting properties individually or in batches
- Making inquiries on individual properties, how many properties are in the store, and the total size of all the stored properties
