This chapter presents a series of examples to get you started on the numerical portion of your application. Many features, such as the trigonometric functions Sin, Cos, and Tan, are available on most other computer systems. Other features are unique to the floating-point arithmetic standards of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), on which all CommonPoint platforms are based. Many of these features are less well known but straightforward to use.
