To cache or not to cache
Whether to cache a graphic or not is completely up to you. Memory overhead is associated with caching graphics, so you should cache a graphic only when the drawing time savings outweigh the overhead. When in doubt, do performance testing to determine whether it makes sense to cache a graphic with the understanding that speed improvements are often device-dependent. For example, a polygon might draw significantly faster on a framebuffer, but slower on a device with polygon acceleration hardware.
