Control point rules

The number of control points that define the curve must always be equal to or greater than the order of the curve. A linear curve must have at least two control points, a quadratic curve must have at least three control points, and a cubic curve must have at least four control points.

When the control points of a curve are connected by straight lines, you get the control polyline. The figures in this section show the control polylines for the curves. The control polyline is conceptual and invisible at run time.
