Title tab

The title tab can contain these interface elements: a title, a title icon, a close box, a minimizer, and a zoom box. The height of the title tab is determined by the font size of the title. The system default font is TaligentSans 14 point bold.

Title

If the window is a container, a document, a panel, or a palette, the title tab displays a title. For a container or document, the title is the object's name. As a developer, you add the title to a panel or palette when you implement it.

NOTE Whether dialog boxes have titles will be decided in an
upcoming release.

Proxy icon

A proxy icon appears in the title tabs of both document and container windows. This icon acts as a proxy for drag-and-drop operations. For example, the user could drag the proxy icon for a document to the trash without having to find the document's icon in the container where it resides.

The proxy icon can also be used as a drop destination. When data is dropped on the proxy icon, it is either absorbed or embedded into the root component. If there is an insertion point in the document, the data is typically inserted at that point.

Close box

The close box lets the user close the window.

Minimizer

The minimizer lets the user reduce the window to its title tab. When the user clicks the minimizer, the window is reduced to its tab, which remains in its current location onscreen. Clicking the minimizer again restores the window to its original size.

Zoom box

The zoom box lets the user toggle between the window size and position set by the user and the maximum size in the CommonPoint window. If the user hasn't resized or moved the window, the window toggles between its default size and position and the maximum size. Currently, the maximum size is slightly smaller than the CommonPoint window.

NOTE In a future release, the maximized size for a window will be defined as the minimum size needed to display all of the contents of the document, limited by the size of the screen.
