Debugging an interactor

Debugging an interactor can be tricky because letting go of the mouse alters the interaction state, and you need to use the mouse to work with the debugger. To debug an interactor, direct the Xcdb display to another X server (either on AIX or on a Macintosh" using MacX`), while running the CommonPoint application system on your primary display. With these two displays, you can use the default AIX mouse solely to interact with the CommonPoint input system while you debug using the mouse on the second X server.

To direct Xcdb to another display, modify the TalDB script and add a -display argument in the xcdb command-line arguments:

    xcdb -i 31 -c 50 -display Allan:0
For information about X servers and display names, consult your AIX documentation.

NOTE The CommonPoint input system will eventually support multiple mice; consequently, debugging with two displays will no longer be an issue.
