provider is any software module providing extension functionality to a SQL database service. The SQLDAS Provider interface is a public interface allowing an independent software vendor to provide a particular database service to the CommonPoint application system and its applications. At present, SQLDAS comes equipped with provider software for Oracle7`, Sybase", DB2", and ODBC connectivity layers and servers.
