Provider operation mechanism

The Licensing framework supports licensed product protection in the form of a provider operation. This mechanism is defined by the abstract base class, TProviderOperation, which is derived to provide specialized protocols of varying complexity and security characteristics.


The Licensing framework provides default provider operations, or protocols. Licensing server providers can use these default provider options intact, or as a model for their own implementations. The most powerful of these, shown in Figure 25, is a challenge protocol based upon the MD4 message digest algorithm, and implemented in the class TBasicChallenge.
