Adding a model to the embedding hierarchy

You can add models to the embedding hierarchy by placing them in a document component and giving the component to a model to adopt, or giving the component to the document to adopt. You can remove components by having their embedder orphan them.

Persistence of objects

Objects in the embedding hierarchy are persistent while those in the presentation hierarchy are not. Presentation objects only exist for the lifetime of the document server process.
