Document registry

Objects communicate with the document registry using document surrogates.

The document registry:

Starts a document server process if necessary,
Tracks whether and where a document server process is running,
Mediates between the document server and its clients during the establishment of a connection,
Blocks clients while a document server is shutting down,
Provides a persistent index of well-known documents (for example, the clipboard).

You would never derive a class from the TDocumentRegistry base class. It is used directly only for document attribute management and document process control.
