Where should data reside?

Models provide a consistent interface to the document data for the rest of the CommonPoint application system. A model does not necessarily directly contain the data for which it provides an interface (for example, the data might be remote or stored in a database).

If the data is simple, or small, then it should probably be kept in the model. If, on the other hand, the data is sizeable, the best choice would be to keep the real data in storage and maintain references to the data in the model.
