Resolving page description mismatches

You can change the page description associated with a folio, but unless it matches a page description on the target printer, end user intervention is required for the folio to be printed. Changing the page description for the folio reformats the folio.

When the folio page description does not match any of the page descriptions on the target printer, the mismatch must somehow be resolved. Both the print media and page metrics must be matched; media mismatches are resolved by the end user.

The folio is never reformatted to compensate for mismatches; text reflows only when the end user selects a new page description. Instead, the pages are scaled, tiled, or clipped. End users can specify defaults or choose to be notified when mismatches occur and select a mismatch option at print time.

NOTE Another option when mismatches occur is simply not to print. End users who select this option will not be notified when mismatches occur.
