Workspace
developer tools
This chapter provides information for CommonPoint application system developers who want to integrate new data types with the CommonPoint Workspace. Some example data types include spreadsheet data, text data, or image data.
Once you've integrated your data type with the Workspace:
- Users can create new instances of the document by double-clicking on the stationery
- The Workspace can display both the stationery and document instances as icons
- The small icon you specify is used for the proxy icon in an open document of the new type
You can also implement drag and drop behavior for the Workspace entities you create. Read "Implementing drag and drop for Workspace entities" on page 194 for information about the classes you need to create and the tools you use to add drag and drop behavior.
"Creating icons for documents and stationery" on page 192 provides some general information about creating icons for use in the Workspace.
This chapter does not address how to create a model, presenter state, or stationery class; it assumes that you have already written these classes.
