Views and the View System

A view can render itself on any display device. For example, a printer test program could instruct a view to render a test pattern onto a page in the printer. The view need never appear on the display screen.

The View System manages the rendering of views on the display device with which the user interacts and the delivery of user input to those views. It is technically possible for the View System to exist independently of views (although a system running with no views is not very useful).
