Working with the program

Mars lets you interactively draw, edit, and manipulate graphical shapes on a drawing surface called a canvas. Menus are chosen from the menu palette by clicking on the right arrow. The chosen menu displays against the right side of the menu palette. Use the mouse to move the menu palette, and the menu stays with the palette. If you choose another menu, that menu displays in place of the existing menu. You can use the mouse to move the menu away from the palette to any location on the CommonPoint system screen and then choose another menu from the menu palette. By moving and choosing menus, you can display all menus on the palette as shown in Figure 8.

You use the graphic creation tools from the Tool menu to draw graphics onto a drawing surface called a canvas. The Arrow tool lets you select and manipulate the canvas graphics. The Color and Pen menus let you apply color and line width to the selected graphics. The Text menu lets you edit embedded text as you create it with the Text tool from the Tool menu.
