Guide to GrafEdit
GrafEdit describes the GrafEdit framework. GrafEdit makes writing graphical editing programs that involve drawing, selecting, and interacting with 2D graphics fast and easy.
GrafEdit assumes familiarity and a knowledge of the frameworks and systems necessary to create a complete program. Some familiarity with fundamental graphics programming concepts is useful.
This book is divided into two sections.
Part 1 describes introductory and "how to" material for GrafEdit:
- "Introducing GrafEdit" presents a basic introduction to GrafEdit architecture and the sample applications provided by the CommonPoint system
- "GrafEdit getting started" walks through a very simple GrafEdit application to get you started with the basic concepts. It describes the major groups of classes and introduces Standard and Basic GrafEdit.
- "Using GrafEdit sample programs" shows the user view of the Mars sample application.
- "Mars sample application code walkthrough" provides a code walkthrough of the Mars sample application. The code walkthrough gives you an idea of how a framework program behaves at run time, what code you need to supply to get the functionality you want, and what functionality the framework provides for the successful execution of your program.
- "Extending GrafEdit" gives "how to" information to accomplish common tasks to extend the functionality of your GrafEdit application.
Part 2 covers reference material for GrafEdit classes:
