Preface

The Taligent Style Guide captures the evolving standards for writing and editing CommonPoint` technical information. The TechComm Editorial Council solves style issues using Resolving Editorial Style Questions, a document that provides procedural information and suggests reference documents. When the council reaches a decision, the term is inserted into the Taligent Style Guide.

Audience

The Taligent Style Guide is intended for Taligent` writers, editors, course developers, sample application programmers, and anyone who produces information published outside of Taligent. The style guide is also intended for Taligent's investors who want to know about Taligent writing standards and for developers outside of Taligent who want to document their applications to match Taligent standards.

The audience is assumed to have a basic understanding of technical writing and technical knowledge of the subject area being covered.

The Taligent Style Guide complements the Publications Handbook and Legal Guidelines, two internal TechComm reference documents.
