Text Editing framework roadmap

The Text Editing framework is based on several other important CommonPoint application system frameworks and classes, including:

Desktop frameworks--the Presentation framework, the Document frameworks, and the View and Input systems
Typing framework
Basic text classes

The Text Editing framework also relies on the Line Layout system for lower level text formatting and display capabilities.

This figure shows the Text Editing framework in the context of these frameworks. The Text Editing framework provides interfaces for using many of the features provided by these lower-level systems. However, if you want to modify the interface or provide customized text editing behavior, you may need to work with these systems directly.
