Issuing and creating text editing commands

Your applications should always modify text representation objects by issuing commands against selected data, rather than calling MTextRepresentation functions directly. The Text Editing framework provides a group of concrete commands for editing text and style data:

These classes are described individually in "Text command classes" on page 145.

The menus included in the default presentation on an editable text document component provide an interface for the end user to invoke these commands. You can also write other functions that issue these commands programmatically or provide a different interface--for example, using a cursor tool. You can also create your own commands that operate on text selections.
