Understanding how to use SQLDAS

In a typical scenario, the client application establishes a connection to a database through a database access protocol. After a connection is successfully established, the client application issues a SQL query to retrieve the desired data. The results of the query are returned to the client application as a record source. The client application can retrieve data from the record source, one record at a time. The client application can provide the end user with a description of the contents of the database; this information is stored in table and column catalogs. The client application can also retain the returned data as individual records for later use.

For information about the exceptions generated by the SQLDAS framework, see the exception classes and member function descriptions available online.
