The class families shown in Figure 4 define the Basic Document framework. Each family grouping has at least one class; the Document and Store families have many. Classes are grouped into families based on common traits. Normally, all the classes in a family are derived from a single base class.
These families of classes are presented in their relative order of importance. Not all classes are equally important. Some define basic objects upon which substantial elements of a framework are built, while others merely create processes that manage these objects and their interactions.
