The samples

The documented samples address real user needs and they stand on their own, using various CommonPoint frameworks for infrastructure.

These programs are instructional--they aren't robust marketable programs:

To make code solutions more obvious, the programs ignore some issues of optimization and performance.
To avoid dreary volumes of code, the programs implement fewer features than you'd expect in off-the-shelf programs.

The programs do follow Taligent programming guidelines, and they use the Taligent frameworks and classes as they are meant to be used.

What to expect with version B

The current samples use features of the CommonPoint application system. While the samples' coverage of system features is limited, you can find additional code fragments throughout the CommonPoint developer guides. These books are contained within the CommonPoint information set. For a description of these manuals, refer to the preface in any of book within this set.

What you get in Documented Samples are a few stable, well-designed, well-documented programs.
