NOTE Many of the menu items that apply style information can also be used to change the typing style by applying them to an insertion point selection--that is, the style change applies to subsequently input text.
The operations available through the standard editable text document component menu are:
General editing commands, which allow the end user to undo and redo text changes, to cut, copy, and paste text selections, to select all text currently in the document, and to delete selected text.
Changing the typing configuration, which allows the end user to activate any currently installed typing configuration. In a future release, users will be able to toggle typing configurations using keyboard commands.
Applying character styles, which allows the end user to apply a variety of styles to characters, including:
Changing the appearance of the presentation, which llows the end user to set colors for the presentation background, the selection highlighting, and the insertion point caret, and to set the text margins relative to the panel size.
You can extend or replace this menu to include different operations for your editable text elements. See "Adding text menus" on page 111 for a description of how to do this.
