Using the Time Media User Interface framework

The Time Media User Interface framework provides a convenient interface for playing or recording sequences of time media data in the CommonPoint application system. The framework provides a set of reusable player controls, which are built using standard CommonPoint user-interface control elements.

You can play a media clip by launching a media document in the Workspace and by using the player controls to control the playback. Once a media document of a particular type is running, you can load and play other clips of that type.

To incorporate time media in a program, you can embed a media presentation in a view or compound document. When you embed a media presentation, the Time Media UI framework provides the controls for the presentation. Embedded media components can be cut, copied, and pasted between documents.

Embedding a media presentation in a view is the easiest way to support time media in a CommonPoint program. This lightweight form of embedding is supported by the Time Media UI framework.
